choso is a half-human, half-cursed spirit who has a flesh and blood body that is fully visible even to non-sorcerers. he is one of nine death painting wombs that came from a woman capable of giving birth to cursed spirit children. he is ranked special grade, which is the most powerful type of curse. while he initially joined the villains in their fight, he left to join the sorcerers once he learned the truth about his lineage.

he is a very calm and reserved person, who is fairly quiet and tends to fade into the background. he tends to look bored and like he's dissociated in most situations. however, he is incredibly attached and protective of his brothers, being the oldest. he values family above all else. unlike other cursed spirits, he has no inherent desire to attack humans, and he isn't cruel or vicious in any way.

with his inherited technique, blood manipulation, he can manipulate his own blood to use it in combat. he can sharpen it, fly it through the air, shape it into long streams, etc. he can also convert his cursed energy into blood to use for his technique; as long as he has enough cursed energy, he can prevent his body from dying of blood loss, essentially using reverse cursed technique to heal himself.

SOUL TYPE - TERRA

ꜰᴜʟʟʏ ꜱʜɪꜰᴛᴇᴅ ꜰᴏʀᴍ;
choso's traits and transformation is based on the sanguinaria, or bloodroot.

when he is fully shifted, he grows roots out of his feet that can potentially sink into the ground and tether him if needed. one of his eyes blooms into a beautiful white flower which he can use to not only sense the other plants around him, but also control and keep an eye on his own flowering stems that he can send out on vines. these vines sprout from the markings on his arms and can have multiple flowers strung along them, which he can dislodge and leave as poison bait.

if these vines are cut off, he can regrow them, but it will take time. the markings on his skin will start from the shoulder and work down to his wrist, and will only extend out from his skin once they've grown long enough. he can also use these stems to wrap around his blood manipulation outputs for a double whammy.

his hands will turn red, as though stained with a reddish paint; his hands show the level of toxic sap that he has left. the less red his skin, the less sap he has left. it will take time for him to build up his sap reserves again. the sap can be secreted from his fingers, from his mouth, or from any of the flowers that he blossoms.

if necessary, his insides can also turn into vines, separating the top half of his body from the bottom--this gives him more ability to stretch his top half out, if his bottom is rooted into the ground. stems, leaves, and flowers will burst from his middle like they're replacing his intestines, similar to this image (tw: blood and guts). he cannot extend himself and these vines at the same time; either he uses the vines for offense, or he uses them to support the elongation of his body.


ᴀᴘᴘʟɪᴄᴀʙʟᴇ ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀꜱ;
• he sometimes appears to be less of the purple, pale pallor that his skin usually has, and more a pure white, almost alabaster quality. this mimics the color of the flowers that his body creates.

• he smells of sweet pollen, though if he's in a bad mood, his skin can secrete a reddish sap which, when ingested, can cause vomiting or loss of consciousness. if put on the skin, it can destroy tissue and lead to the formation of necrotic tissue.

• regenerative abilities, like regrowing severed limbs, etc. if challenged, he will become more and more poisonous to try to deter any dismemberment, and may harden his stems, leaves, or even flower petals.

• can manipulate other plants, forcing their growth, distortion, or movement.

• can root himself into the ground and see the lay of the land ahead of them, including other lifeforms, magical signatures, etc. it's painful to uproot himself too quickly; he also partakes of rooting himself to bask in the energy of the earth.

• wilts when he's deprived of sunlight for too long. possible that he will go dormant, closing himself up into leaves and vine-like stems to protect himself.

• his predominant ability is to be toxic. he can curate how poisonous he is at any given moment, and is immune to being poisoned himself. as both his sap is poisonous, as well as his own blood being poisonous (from his cursed technique), he is quite dangerous. he can imbue liquids with his toxins with a magical touch.

• he tends to hold grudges more than he would normally. he doesn't really understand time passing. he's quite sensitive to the environment and doesn't like anyone treating the plants (even grass) with disrespect.

• if he feels possessive over someone, he may leave a cute little white flower to grow on them somewhere, like it should be a warning--even if the flower itself isn't toxic.

• with his cursed technique, blood manipulation, he can also wrap his blood arrows, blood bombs, etc in thick stemming to provide a double impact and harden the blood further.


ᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴛ ᴄᴏʀʀᴜᴘᴛɪᴏɴ;
he has the light vine markings on his skin, similar to this. they're only on his arms, for now.

his tongue can turn a bit red if he's irritated, or feeling protective of himself, and will secrete a sweet, poisonous liquid. he's learning to control this. ingestion of this sap will cause someone to feel sick to their stomach and/or vomit, but for now, it's not strong enough to do any further harm.

he's prone to being outside, more than inside, and gets irritated with anyone being unkind to the foliage, even grass, outside.
